Pre-requisites

Course description :

 The course deals with basic concepts of algebra, algebraic quantities, first degree functions and first degree equations, It also includes The Second Degree Functions and Second Degree equations, Other functions.

 

 

Objectives

1- Students are to  be familiarized with essential Algebraic Operations.

2- Introduce students to the Factoring Algebraic Quantities methods.

3- Help students solve the radical of the first and second degree Equations (Factoring Method-Quadratic Formula).

Contents

1- Basic concepts of  algebra: algebraic operations, exponents and radicals, algebraic quantities.

2- Factoring algebraic Quantities: Common Factor, Difference of Squares and Cubes, Sum of Cubes, Perfect Square

3- First Degree Functions and Second: Solving Linear Equation in One Variable and Second Variables, Solving One and  Second Degree Equations (Factoring Method-Quadratic Formula).

4- Other Functions: Radical Functions, Rational Functions, Exponential Functions.

 

Course Outcomes:

Upon the completion of this course, students are expected to:

1-  know the Algebraic basic concepts.

2-  know types of functions: Radical, Rational, and Exponential.

2- be acquainted with polynomial operations: sum, product, difference, and Quotient rules.

1- be able to solve mathematical problems.
