Brief content
|
The Islamic culture course covers the linguistic and conventional concepts of culture and the relation of Islamic culture with other cultures. The course also includes the Islamic faith principles and their impact on both individuals and society.

Course objectives
The course aims at:
1- Introducing students to the Islamic culture concept, resources and characteristics.
2- Explaining the Islamic culture concept, characteristics and issues; and their impact on individuals and society.
3- Clarifying the meaning of worship in Islam, its characteristics, motives and ruling.
4- Pinpointing wrong concepts and practices.
Contents:
1- Islamic culture concept: linguistic concept, conventional concept, Islamic culture concept, the relation between the culture, knowledge and civilization.
2- Islamic culture resources: The Holy Quran, Sunna of the prophet, Islamic history, Islamic civilization, Arabic language and literature.
3- Islamic culture importance: be characterized by once identity, historical links, cultural pride and belonging.
4- Islamic culture relation with other cultures: forms of weakness in Islamic culture influence, western cultures dominance, Islamic culture attitude towards other cultures.
5- The faith's impact on society: establishing brotherhood, individuals acquaintance, discipline, integration, social cooperation and justice.
6- Worship ruling and conditions: worship Allah sincerely, follow the Sunna of the prophet.
7- Worship ruling and intention: Salah (prayer), Zakat, fasting, Haj, piety, repentance, remembering Allah, supplication.
8- Wrong concept and practices in worshiping: associating others with Allah, innovations.
Course outcomes:
Students are expected to:
A-Knowledge
1- Understand the concept of Islamic culture, its characteristics, its importance, and its relation with other cultures.
2- Comprehend the concept of Islamic belief, its characteristics and impact on both the individuals and society.
3- Understand the meaning of worship in Islam, its characteristics, aims, and motives.
4- Be fully aware of the wrong applications and concepts of worship.
B-Cognitive Skills
1- Be able to deal with other cultures and benefit from them.
2- Be able to implement the effect of faith on themselves and society.
C- Interpersonal skills and responsibilities
Be able to distinguish between wrong and right concepts of big issues in faith.
D- Analysis and communication :
Be able to fulfill the aims of worship as well as avoiding being trapped in wrong concepts and practices
